Terms of Use

Effective Date:

1. Purpose & Scope

Trans Empowerment Project’s learning platform exists to educate, empower, and mobilize people toward justice, equity, and liberation—especially for 2TIGE (2Spirit, Trans, Intersex, and Gender Expansive) communities and our allies. These Terms of Use apply to all learners, facilitators, and guests who participate in our Thinkific learning environment.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or enrolling in a course, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these Terms of Use and our Privacy & Community Respect Policy.

3. Privacy & Community Respect

Share learnings, not identities. To keep our spaces safe, you agree NOT to:

  • Record, screenshot, or share any part of course discussions or materials without explicit written consent.
  • Reveal names, identities, or details of personal experiences shared by others in private course spaces.
  • Use course content or discussions in ways that could endanger, out, or harm participants.

Violations may result in immediate removal from courses and community spaces.

4. Zero Tolerance for White Supremacy, Harassment, and Hate

We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for racism, white supremacy, transphobia, ableism, homophobia, sexism, xenophobia, classism, or any other form of oppression. Unacceptable conduct includes (not exhaustive):

  • Racist/identity-based slurs, “jokes,” memes, dog whistles, or stereotypes.
  • Tone policing, gaslighting, or denying the lived experiences of marginalized people.
  • Dismissing or derailing discussions of privilege, equity, or systemic oppression (“both-sidesing,” whataboutism).
  • Refusing to use someone’s stated name or pronouns; outing or doxxing others.
  • Harassing, threatening, or targeting anyone on the basis of identity.

Consequences may include immediate removal without refund. To report harm or violations, email [email protected].

5. Accessibility & Care

We strive to create accessible, affirming learning environments. To request accommodations or accessible formats, contact [email protected]. We will make reasonable efforts to meet access needs.

6. Ownership of Content

All course materials (including videos, text, slides, graphics, assessments, and downloads) are the intellectual property of Trans Empowerment Project. You may not copy, reproduce, upload, share, or repurpose these materials—commercially or non-commercially—without prior written consent.

You are welcome to share what you learned, but not our copyrighted content itself.

7. Payments & Refunds

Some courses require payment. Once access to a paid course is granted, no refunds will be issued.

8. Account Responsibility

You are responsible for safeguarding your login and for all activity under your account. Do not share your credentials or allow others to use your account.

9. Termination of Access

Trans Empowerment Project may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or when participation compromises the safety or integrity of the community.

10. Educational Disclaimer

Course content is provided for educational and informational purposes only and is not legal, medical, or professional advice. Trans Empowerment Project and its facilitators are not liable for actions taken based on course content.

11. Updates to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. We will post changes on this page; continued participation indicates acceptance of updated terms.
